Platinized Titanium & Niobium Anodes
BSS Technologies supplies engineered Platinized Titanium and Platinized Niobium ICCP Anode assemblies, offering high current density discharge, compact geometry, and custom mounting for marine structures, water tanks, ship hulls, and industrial process equipment.

High Current Density Impressed Current Anodes for Harsh Environments
Marine structures, power station cooling conduits, water vessels, and high-resistivity ground beds require lightweight, high-capacity impressed current anodes. BSS Technologies custom-engineers and tests premium Platinized Titanium and Niobium anode systems in-house. Using high-purity platinum coatings over robust titanium and niobium cores, our assemblies deliver reliable, long-term cathodic protection across demanding industrial environments.
What Are Platinized Anodes?
Platinized titanium and niobium anodes are noble metal impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) anodes. They feature a titanium or niobium core coated with a thin layer of pure platinum. The base metal provides a lightweight, conductive carrier, while the highly catalytic platinum allows the anode to operate at very high current densities without dissolving or changing shape.
These anodes are chosen for critical assets where space constraints, weight limits, or high current demands make bulky conventional anodes impractical. Capable of output densities up to 1000 A/m² in seawater, they are significantly more compact than silicon iron or graphite alternatives. Standard 2.5 micron platinum coatings suit most marine and water utility applications, while 5.0 micron coatings handle aggressive fluids and deliver better anode design life.

Targeted Platinized Anode Applications
Platinized anodes are built for environments that demand high current output from a very compact footprint. Combining the excellent current capacity of platinum with durable titanium or niobium substrates allows these anodes to perform reliably in aggressive conditions, such as high-velocity seawater and confined process tanks.
This specialized design is ideal for space-restricted or high-voltage applications. Whether flush-mounted on ship hulls to reduce drag, suspended inside industrial heat exchangers, or deployed in high-resistivity deep wells, they deliver focused corrosion control exactly where conventional anodes cannot fit or operate effectively.
